    Musa ibn Abil Ghassan

    Not much is known about the life of this hero of Islam in its last days in Spain. His name was Musa ibn Abil Ghassan. He was a knight from a royal lineage. He reproached the Muslim king of Granada Abu Abdullah Muhammad in 1489 for his submission to the Christians and strove to rekindle the spirit of Jihad among the Muslims in Spain.

    Nuruddin Abu al-Qasim Mahmud Ibn Imad ad- Din Zangi born 1118, died 1174 in Damascus, Syria. He was Emir of Damascus and Aleppo and reigned from 1146-1174. He was a member of the Turkish Zengid dynasty which ruled the Syrian province of the Seljuk Empire.

    Arab Muslims had a major impact on Spanish. Of all the languages in the world outside the Muslim lands, it is Spanish which includes the greatest number of Arabic borrowing. There are 8,000 words and some 2,300 place-names of Arab origin. After Latin, Arabic made the greatest contribution to the Spanish tongue.

    The true scholars of Islam, the Ulama, are the guardians of the road to salvation: Islam. Disregard for Ulama is among the signs of Qiyamah:

    1. The Prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam said: ‘Such a time will come when the Ulama will be killed like dogs. If only at that time the Ulama could become insane…’

    The following deeds, while not absolving one of the obligation of Hajj, bring the reward of a Hajj:
    1. Esha Salaah in Congregation. Uqbah ibn Abdil Ghaafir rahimahullah said: ‘Offering the Esha salaah in congregation equals the reward of Haj, and the Fajr in congregation equals Umrah.’

    Easy Death. A Hadith indicates that Allah will make the hour of death easy for him who possesses the following three qualities and grant him entry into Paradise: 1. He is kind to the weak. 2. He treats his parents with loving care. 3. He shows favour to his minors. (Mishkaat)

    Who is the Terrorist?

    First, the accusation was: ‘All Muslims are terrorists.’ When the bigots realized no one in their right mind would believe that all 1.6 billion Muslims in the world could be terrorists, they reversed their statement to sound more objective: ‘All Muslims may not be terrorists, but almost all terrorists are Muslims.’ Really?

    One hot day, a thirsty crow flew all over the fields looking for water. For a long time, she could not find any. She felt very weak, almost giving up hope. Suddenly, she saw a water jug below her. She flew straight down to see if there was any water inside.
