Snowflake Easy Mix (cake mixes) Haraam

I was speaking to my sister about this and that and as I was about to end my conversation when I mentioned that I was going to bake using my Snowflake easy mix whereupon she told me that it was haraam. I was shocked as the packaging suggested nothing haraam unless the colourant (which had E150 in brackets beside it) and raising agents were the haraam ingredients in the muffin mix.

    Muharram 1433 AH

Oh how the year has passed yet again. The question to ask is “Have we improved spiritually in the past year?” Have we come closer to Allah? Have we become better to our fellow man or are we still chasing after the deceptive dunya with her poisonous alluring charms?

Qari Abdul Hamid Panoli passes away

Growing up I remember asking my father, "Where is daddy going?" And he would answer, "Kerk Street". As I grew older I heard wonderful true stories about the spread of Tableegh in South Africa, Johannesburg especially. Many of them of how Qari Abdul Hamid (rahimahullah) started it all in Kerk Street Masjid in Johannesburg.

    Duas at Arafah

Today the Hujjaaj (pilgrims) will stand on the plains of ‘Arafah where our souls stood before Allah testifying that our Lord is One.

It was reported that Ibn ‘Abbaas (radhiyallahu anhu) said: Rasoolullah (sallallhu alayhi wa sallam) said: ‘Allaah took the covenant from the offspring of Adam in Na’maan, i.e., ‘Arafah

Darul Uloom Newcastle Fire (update) - Exclusive Photos

The Aftermath - Exclusive Photos. I went to the Darul Uloom Newcastle today and was able to get some photos. The site is horrific but Alhamdulillah no-one was hurt. Reports say that the building was scheduled for demolishing to make way for a new building, but not only did the walls, stairs and roof go up in flames but personal belongings of those who lived there.
