Published by Shafiq Morton on Wednesday, 12 March 2014
SOME time ago, after a rather fruitless discussion about innovation in Islam, I tweeted:  ‘the intellectual insecurity of having to be absolute is absolute insecurity’.

Grant the Thornton Islamic Society a long term lease on ERF 1102 or allow for them to purchase the Erf

Published on Wednesday, 5 February 2014

The Thornton Islamic Society currently does not have a permanent place of worship and have been in negotiations with the City for years now to no avail. Yesterday they launched an online petition at: https://www.change.org/en-GB/petitions/patricia-de-lille-grant-the-thornton-islamic-society-a-long-term-lease-on-erf-1102-or-allow-for-them-to-purchase-the-erf

Please can we ask that you sign our the petition and also share this petition with your friends and family; they do not have to live in Thornton. The more people we make aware of our plight, the more the City is forced to take note and act.
