    Moulood Program

Published by Masjid al-Munowar on Saturday, 19 March 2011
The moulood programme was a spiritual upliftment, the talks were all inspiring and moving; and encouraged us to follow the sunnah of our honorable and perfect Nabi (saw) and strive for the best of character. Aisha (ra) said: “His character was the Qur’an”. The Qaasida Burdah was a welcomed addition to the usual moulood programme. It brought a sense of specialty and enlightenment that somehow brought people closer together. The salawaat connected us spiritually to our beloved Rasool (saw) and standing and saying it together unified us as a jamaa and it unifies us as the ummah of Nabi Muhammad (saw). It is our duty as muslims to take every opportunity to honor and celebrate our beloved Prophet (saw) and we should do this with honor and integrity every day of our lives. During the Moulood programme my heart was content listening to the beautiful recitation of the holy Qur’an, being remindered of Allahs greatness and mercy and honoring the holy Prophet Muhammad (saw) made me feel complete as a muslim.

A Review of the Summer Festival 2010 and the hike that followed…

Published by Masjid al-Munowar on Saturday, 15 January 2011
It all began with the call of the Imam to provide an alternative to the normal new year’s celebration which lures the youth to all kinds of evil. Upon hearing this, I realized that I had to take part in this initiative. For a long time I have been yearning for something that will bring me closer to Allah. Therefore I jumped at the opportunity to make my skills available by doing my henna designs, something that I love, beautifying the hands of ladies.
